A romantic view of the modern landscape  

The ‘contemporary landscape’ is the object of many of Carlien’s works. On the canvas, buildings enter into relationships with their environment through color and shape.

Carlien finds her inspiration during walks, cycling and traveling. Her paintings are a report of the impressions she gets. Each painting has its own palette, with color tones that determine atmosphere and time: morning, afternoon or evening. And the paintings span all seasons, winter, spring, summer and fall.
